Starting from the region of Sparta
1) Sites in the vicinity of Sparta 
We will first visit the modern statue of the famous ancient king of Sparta, Leonidas, influenced by the original ancient statue found on the Acropolis of Sparta, which we will visit later, with the ruins of the famous ancient theater and other monuments. We will continue our visit to the Archaeological Museum of Sparta, which is the oldest regional museum in Greece and exhibits a representative collection of antiquities found in the area, some of which are unique and are not to be found in other areas because of the special character of the ancient Spartans. After that we will visit the medieval castle-town of Mystras, a monument protected by UNESCO, which rises on the foothills of the legendary mountain Taygetos that dominates the Spartan valley. Our tour ends with the Museum of the Olive and the Greek Olive oil, a modern thematic museum located in Sparta, one of the main olive oil producing areas of Greece. It is the only museum in Greece that presents the uses of olive and its products through time. 
The sites to visit: Archaeological Museum- Statue of Leonidas- Acropolis- castle-town of Mystras- the Museum of the Olive and the Greek Olive oil. Important notice - The Archaeological Museum is closed on Mondays, while on Tuesdays, the Museum of the Olive and the Greek Olive oil. Mystras is not suitable for people with mobility problems and comfortable footwear is necessary.

2) Monemvasia - Liotrivi 
The islet of Monemvasia was originally a cape and it was cut off from the mainland after a devastating earthquake in 375 AD. Gradually it developed into a strong fortress and became a strategic base of the commercial and military fleet of the Byzantine Empire from which they could control the Eastern Mediterranean sea. Many peoples, including the Venetians and the Turks, tried and succeeded in conquering it and of course influenced its architectural character. Today, it is a lively, picturesque medieval castle-town, preserving the narrow paved paths and the vaulted arched buildings with many traditional shops and tavernas. Our tour will continue to the Liotrivi, the traditional olive oil-mill that originally belonged to the family of the famous Greek poet Yiannis Ritsos. Today, all the traditional equipment of the 1920s’ oil-mill are kept in the original buildings and of course are visitable. After the tour we will see how traditional bread is prepared, which we will taste later, as well as local products and olive oil.

3) Castle-town of Geraki - Monemvasia The castle-town of Geraki was founded just after the first fall of Constantinople to the Franks in 1204 on a steep hill with a magnificent view of the valley, which has a history of at least 5,000 years. The castle-town has been recently (partially) restored and some its beautiful churches and monuments are visitable presenting some unique characteristics. 4) Elafonisos
The islet of Elafonisos was originally connected to the mainland with a thin zone of land, where the prehistoric settlement of Pavlopri dominated, until it sank due to earthquakes and sea level rise. the access to Elafonisos today is by ferry and it is famous worldwide for its beaches and especially the bigger and smaller beaches of Simos (Sarakiniko). The two beautiful beaches are linked to each other with a thin strip of sand and protected by the program Natura 2000 because of their beauty, exotic landscape and dunes that are unique in Europe. Afterwards, at the picturesque harbor of the island, we can taste local appetizers and fresh fish.

5) Areopoli - Caves of Diros - Gytheio We will start our visit to Mani from the historic capital of the area which is Areopolis with its famous tower-mansions. We will wander through the picturesque alleys among the tower-mansions and visit the church of Taxiarches with its square, where the Greek Revolution began in 1821. We will continue our visit with the unique lake-caves of Diros, hidden underneath the dry and arid landscape of Mani, next to the beautiful crystal blue sea. The caves are famous all over the world for the colorful stalagmites and stalactites that formed before the rise of the sea level hundreds of thousands of years ago. The exact extent of the cave is still unknown, and today visitors visit the cave by boat for about 1,600 meters and then walk for about 300 meters until they see the Sunlight again. After the caves we will drive from the Messinian Gulf to the Laconian and visit Gytheio, a picturesque port of the 19th century and the official capital of the area of Mani. It was an important port of the Spartans, also during the Roman era, but it was destroyed by an earthquake in 375 AD. We will visit the islet of Kranai with the tower of Tzanetaki and the famous marble lighthouse, we will walk to the picturesque harbor and visit the ruins of the Roman theater.

6) Ancient Olympia 
In the green valley of the Alfeios River rose the most important sanctuary of the ancient times dedicated to the father of the gods, Zeus. At the place where the beauty of nature and religious sanctity mingle, the Olympic Games were born, an institution with pan-Hellenic and global radiation from antiquity to the present day. The Olympic Games began officially in 776 BC and took place every four years, until 394 AD, when the Byzantine Emperor Theodosius I forbade their execution because they were considered pagan. We will walk among the ruins of the ancient temples and the monuments of the sanctuary and visit the stadium where the famous Olympics were held in antiquity. Afterwards we will visit the archaeological museum of Olympia where the unique statues such as the Hermes of Praxiteles and the rest finds of the excavations of the sanctuary are exhibited.

7) Mycenae - Nafplio - Palamidi 
We will begin our trip with Mycenae after which the Mycenaean civilization was named. During the second millennium BC, Mycenae was one of the largest centers of the Greek civilization and military power. Of particular admiration are the famous Cyclopean walls, as well as the monumental tholos (vaulted) tombs of the area with the unique finds that are exhibited in the museum, which we will visit. We will continue, with the picturesque Nafplion, the capital of the prefecture of Argolis and the first capital of modern Greece. Nafplio is also known for Bourtzi, a small fortress and a prison, built on an island in the harbor, and Palamidi, the famous castle that protected the city that we will visit later.

8) Malevi - Agios Petros - Karyes 
Surrounded by the forest of maledivian cedar trees, on the slopes of Parnonas built at an altitude of 1,100 meters, the imposing monastery of Panagia (Virgin Mary) Malevis emerges. The name Malevi comes from the local name of the peak of Parnonas, Malevos and according to the tradition, the first monastery was founded in the 8th century elsewhere. We will continue our trip visiting the village of Agios Petros, which is built at 950 meters with paths leading to the hiking shelter and peaks of Parnonas mountain. Our excursion continues visiting the village of Karyes, a traditional village, built at the foot of Parnonas and surrounded by a forest of chestnut and walnut trees. It is located on the northeastern side of the prefecture of Laconia, at the border with the prefecture of Arcadia, and at an altitude of 950 meters with a picturesque square with a perennial plane tree.

9) Monastery of Panagia Elonas - Kosmas 
In the southern part of Parnonas mountain range, Kynouria and at an altitude of 650 meters from the sea rises the imposing and majestic monastery of Panagia of Elona. Following the "Leonidio Kosmas" route through the varied vegetation and the towering wild rocks, at a bend of the road we will see the elon rock of Elona with the monastery of the whitewashed hung on its roots. We will continue our trip with our visit to the traditional settlement of Kosmas where it is a mountainous village of the prefecture of Arcadia. It is located in the southern region of Kynouria. It is built in Parnonas, at an altitude of 1,150 meters between fir forests.
